BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams put on a show for the Titans' Senior Day and Keck Select inside the Shirk Center, Saturday, Feb. 8, as senior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Forsyth-Maroa) set a new school record in the women's weight throw. In all, seven individuals cracked the programs' top-10 lists.

King, taking full advantage of her senior day, produced an exceptional personal-best in the women's weight throw to break the school record in the event that has stood since 2018. King's 17.62m (57'9.75") throw was good for a second-place finish and currently ranks second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and sits 15th in Division III this season. Continuing her senior day showcase, King turned in the eighth-best throw for IWU all-time in the shot put with an 11.29m (37'0.50") mark.

Senior Nick Fisch (Woodridge, Ill.-Montini Catholic) also utilizing the senior day atmosphere, came away with a win in the men's 5,000m. His time of 15:20.06 moved him up to sixth all-time in IWU history.

Improving his career-best mark in the men's high jump, sophomore Matt Lindberg (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) claimed a first-place finish in the event with a 2.04m (6'8.25") clearance. The mark ranks second in the CCIW, 15th in Division III this season, and sits fifth in IWU laurels.

Continuing to dominate the triple jump event, sophomore Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) had the win from the jump with an 11.89m (39'0.25") effort on her first attempt. She coasted through the remainder of the competition with over a two-foot advantage from the rest of the field.

Junior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) turned in a third-place finish with a season-best time of 5:03.07 in the women's mile before shaving a second off of her career-best mark in the 3,000m for fourth-place (10:15.19). Her time is the fastest in the conference this season and ranks second in program history.

Senior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) broke into Illinois Wesleyan's top-10 list in the men's 60m dash with a 7.09-second effort in the preliminary round, good for No. 6 all-time before bettering his time to 7.04 seconds in the final. Harvey ultimately finished fifth in the field and tied for fifth-fastest for IWU all-time.

Also moving up in the program's top-10 list was senior Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Christian Academy) in the men's mile. The senior clocked a 4:21.19 to move up to five all-time while finishing fourth in the field.

Freshman Alex Reinhart (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) turned in a personal-best effort of 2:18.14 in the women's 800m to finish ninth in the field and cracked IWU's top-10 list at No. 9. Reinhart also owns the second-fastest time in the conference this season.

Also turning in top-three finishes for the Titans was freshman Jack Thomas (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) in the 5,000m clocking a 15:49.21 for second-place and junior Ashtin Elder (Chenoa, Ill.-Prairie Central) in the heptathlon with 3344 points for third. Elder opened Saturday's competition with a personal-best in the men's heptathlon 60-meter hurdles at 9.66 seconds before also notching a personal-best clearance and the top mark in the pole vault at 3.55m (11'7.75"). Elder closed out the multi in the 1000m (4:34.25).

Illinois Wesleyan heads north for the GVSU Big Meet Friday, Feb. 14 in Allendale, Mich. before heading to the DePauw Invitational Saturday, Feb. 15 in Greencastle, Ind.
