PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. - After day three of competition, the Illinois Wesleyan University swim and dive teams found two swimmers with All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin recognition at the CCIW Swim and Dive Championships Friday, Feb. 21 in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex.

IWU competed both of its men's and women's 200-yard medley relays to start the 6 p.m. finals, which saw a fourth-place finish for both squads. Senior Emily Marks (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) teamed up with junior Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia), sophomore Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant), and freshman Isabella Cano (River Grove, Ill.-East Leyden) for a time of 1:52.78. For the men, senior Carter Dilger (Sellersburg, Ind.-Jeffersonville) swam with freshmen Tate Thomas (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West), Ben Huk (Des Plaines, Ill.-Maine West), and Jacob Nacional (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) for a fourth-place finish clocking in at 1:39.50.

Cano was a standout swimmer today in the individual events as she brings home the first All-CCIW medal of her career. The freshman finished third in the 100-yard butterfly finals, touching the wall at 59.72. Cano shaved off four seconds of her previous best time this season when she competed at the IWU-CC-IIT Tri, Jan. 18.

For the men, Dilger was the Titans' top finisher of the day, placing fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.13 to beat his previous personal best time by two seconds. Thomas also saw a 10th-place finish in the final of the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:46.06, swimming six seconds faster than his previous best of 1:52.36.

The Titans finished out the night with a second All-CCIW nod in Kuschewski. The Batavia, Ill. native finished as runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 59.29, just .09 seconds shy of the event champion. The junior knocked off three seconds off her previous season-best of 1:02.27. Borre saw a sixth-place finish in the same event, clocking in at 1:00.05.

The Green and White will finish conference competition tomorrow to round out the 2024-25 season.
