Ogunribido Named CCIW Field Athlete of the Week

Holds best triple jump mark in Division III this season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Reigning NCAA Division III Triple Jump National Champion, Illinois Wesleyan University junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Field Athlete of the Week honors, announced by the league office Wednesday, Dec. 10. It is the fourth weekly award of her career and first this season.

At the Titan First Chance Meet Friday, Dec. 5 at the Shirk Center indoor track, Ogunribido won the triple jump event while rewriting the record books, as she re-set her own indoor triple jump school record with a 12.53m (41' 1.5") mark. The mark ups her advantage as the best all-time in CCIW history and ranks 22nd all-time in Division III history. Ogunribido sits at the top of the Division III indoor qualifying list for triple jump this season.

Adding long jump to her repertoire this season, Ogunribido won the event as well Friday, Dec. 5. Her mark of 5.60m (18' 4.5") ranks eighth on the program's all-time top 10 list, as she sits seventh on the Division III indoor qualifying list.

Illinois Wesleyan will return to action at the Coach Shoe Invitational, Saturday, January 17 at the Shirk Center indoor track.
