ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team dropped two duals at the Lindenwood Duals, Sunday, Nov. 16. The Titans fell to Lindenwood, 41-11, before dropping a 31-15 bout to Lindsey Wilson.
In the opener against Lindenwood, the Green and White came away with a pair of wins. At 124 pounds, freshman Beyonce Espinosa (Homestead, Fla. - Homeschooled) defeated Addison Meyer, 11-0 on a technical fall to remain unbeaten this season. Sophomore
Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis. - Berlin) ended the match for the Titans on a positive note with a pin of Malia Martin (5:05).
In the second dual of the day against Lindsey Wilson, Illinois Wesleyan dropped the first five bouts, but responded after, as freshman Jillian Giller (Wilmette, Ill. - New Trier) pinned Aenaya Vines in 3:14 at 138 pounds. At 145 pounds, freshman
Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill. - Evanston) followed with a pin of Ta'Jai Broadnex in 5:49. The Titans rattled off their third straight victory when fellow freshman
AJ Grant (Chicago, Ill. - Phoenix Stem Military Academy) needed just 43 seconds to pin Sofia Toledo in the 160 pound weight class. Lindsey Wilson won the final two bouts to claim the dual.
The Green and White return home, Monday, Nov. 17 for the program's first ever home meet. IWU welcomes No. 4 North Central College to the Shirk Center. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. Fans can catch a livestream here or follow live stats
