Nazha Named CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week

Fourth weekly award for IWU this year

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Will Nazha (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) was selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Special Teams Player of the Week Monday, Oct. 27. It is the first weekly award in his career and the fourth by a Titan this season as he joins Dermot Smyth (twice) and Matt Worthington.

Nazha, the CCIW's leader in all-purpose yards, turned in a strong all-around effort in Illinois Wesleyan's 49-27 win over North Park, Oct. 25. On the special teams front, the sophomore returned three kicks for a total of 166 yards, good for 55.3 yards per return. His big play of the day came in the third quarter with a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, his second of the season. Nazha is sixth nationally in kickoff return yards per game (33.5), while he is one of five with multiple kickoffs returned for a score this season.

The Barrington, Ill. native also paced the offense with five catches and 80 yards. He hauled in a touchdown, his team-leading sixth of the year.

Nazha and the Titans return to action at Augustana College Saturday, Nov. 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Ericson Field.
