BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
Junior Zach Hansen (Manteno, Ill.-Bishop McNamara) made history as Illinois Wesleyan University football's first-ever long snapper to receive All-America honors as the AP unveiled its postseason awards Thursday, Dec. 18. Hansen was voted a Second Team All-America selection.

Hansen is the first All-America honoree of head coach Jared Williamson's tenure. He is the first Titan to be named an AP All-America pick since Trevor Staley repeated as a second team standout in 2018, while he is IWU's first All-American since Jahari Scott was a D3football.com Fourth Team selection in 2023. Additionally, Hansen is the highest All-America selection for Illinois Wesleyan since Mike Murphy was listed as a first teamer following the COVID-altered season in 2021.

A key piece of Illinois Wesleyan's special teams unit, Hansen was named Second Team All-Region 5 by D3football.com earlier this month. The first IWU long snapper to receive the nod since the awards inception in 2005, Hansen played in all 10 games for the Green and White in 2025. He contributed to a special teams unit that ranked in the top half of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in punting and kicking, while also playing a significant role in IWU's fake punt success.

Overall, Hansen was one of 12 CCIW student-athletes recognized on the three-team list. North Central led the way with seven selections, while Wheaton secured three. Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll each garnered one nod apiece.

Illinois Wesleyan went 4-6 overall in Jared Williamson's first year at the helm. The Titans will lose 11 seniors to graduation, while many key contributors are slated to return in 2026 including all three All-CCIW selections, two all-region standouts, and an AP All-America long snapper.
