Final Results

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams competed at Saukie Golf Course for the Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. Saturday, October 18th. The meet was hosted by Augustana College, and gave the Green and White a preliminary look at the course of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship.

Senior Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) finished at the front for the Titans, placing 25th with his personal-record time of 26:26.8. Also finishing in the top-100 was sophomore Jack Thomas (Bloomington,Ill.-Normal Community) with a time of 27:34.2 and placing 99th. To round out the 18th-place team finish, out of 32 in the field, was sophomore Carson Davis (Mt. Zion,Ill.-Mt. Zion) at 180th, and senior Zach Marquardt (Minneapolis, Minn.-Washburn) at 194th.

The women's team finished 37th out of the 40 teams that competed. Leading the Titans was sophomore Maddie Morgan (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West), who finished with a time of 24:09.6 and placed 172nd. Freshman Yuri Malone (St. Louis, Mo.-Metro Academic and Classical High School) recorded a personal-best time of 25:50.9.

Six Titans competed in the Women's Blue 6000M race, highlighted by personal records for freshmen Katherine Cantu (Berwyn, Ill.-Morton West) and Grace Grant (Downers Grove, Ill.-Downers Grove South). Cantu ran a 27:07.2, and Grant followed shortly behind with a time of 27:32.6.

Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) claimed a top-25 finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Friday, Oct. 17. Finishing with a time of 21:51.8 and earning 21st-place, Crabtree bested nearly 60 Division I athletes. 

Crabtree was knocked out of the top-20 by just three seconds en route to posting her third-best 6k time of the season. She came through the first 2k of the race in 33rd-place, but battled throughout the remainder of the race and climbed 12 spots. 

The Titans will return to Rock Island Saturday, November 2, to compete in the CCIW Championships, hosted by Augustana.
