ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country team matched a 23-year-old College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship meet record Saturday, Nov. 1 at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. en route to her second career conference championship. Crabtree led the Titan women's team to a third-place finish, while the Illinois Wesleyan men's team grabbed fifth-place by one point in the 8k race. 

In a wire-to-wire win, Crabtree ran a program record-breaking time of 21:05.1. She broke the previous school record, set by herself Sept. 12, 2025, by 27 seconds. In CCIW Championship history, Crabtree matched Kathleen Brice's (Elmhurst) time when she won the 2003 league championship. It marked the fifth win of Crabtree's career and her fourth this season. Additionally, she became the first two-time CCIW champion in IWU history and just the eighth in conference history.

Fellow senior Brooke Nazos (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) also earned All-CCIW honors, landing on the second team. Crossing the line in 23:18.3 in 16th-place, Nazos claimed All-CCIW Second Team honors for the third straight season. 

Senior Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) was IWU's top finisher on the men's side, clocking a time of 25:43.2, beating his previous personal-best by over 40 seconds and earning All-CCIW Second Team honors. Daniel's 13th-place finish was the best at the conference championship since Steven Raybould finished 12th in 2019. 

Six Titans on the men's side recorded personal bests, including sophomore Jack Thomas (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and senior Zach Marquardt (Minneapolis, Minn.-Washburn) who finished 26th and 39th, respectively.

Sophomores Martin Howley (Naperville, Ill.-Metea Valley) and Annika Blackburn (Champaign, Ill.-Centennial) were Illinois Wesleyan's RESPECT award honorees. Crabtree was named the CCIW Women's Student-Athlete of the Meet. 

Illinois Wesleyan heads to the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship, Nov. 15, hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
