ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Making the program's debut at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Wrestling Championship, freshman Sifa Feruzi (Denver, Colo.-Macomb Senior) made history at Augustana College's Carver Center Sunday, Jan. 26. Feruzi became the first Titan in Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling history to earn All-CCIW honors.

Competing in the 180 pound bracket, Feruzi took down North Central's Sadie Hill by a 7-2 decision to win the third-place match and earn all-conference status. Prior to the placement bout, she faced off against North Central's Shenita Lawson in the opening round, where she fell to No. 3 ranked Lawson. After dropping her second match to Augustana's Sawyer Graham, Feruzi collected the win to etch her name into the IWU history books. The win marked Feruzi's third of the season.

With Feruzi earning all-conference status, freshman Vanessa Gray (Burlington, Ontario, Canada-Dr. Frank J. Hayden) was named Illinois Wesleyan's CCIW RESPECT Award recipient.

Illinois Wesleyan is back in action Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 8-9, at the Quad Cities D3 Invite hosted by Augustana College. Action is slated to take place at Bend XPO beginning Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m.
