BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Returning to the Shirk Center track for the first time in over a month, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams showed out with twelve first-place finishes at the I-55 Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 18.

Seniors CJ Ladewig (Palos Heights, Ill.-Stagg) and Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Maria-Forsyth) swept the men's and women's weight throw competitions as Ladewig threw a 15.85m (52') mark to win on men's side, while King's 15.72m (51'7") was over six feet further than the next closest competitor in the women's field. Senior Matthew Wagner (Normal, Ill.-Central Catholic) and sophomore Lauryn Moore (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) also swept the men's and women's shot put competitions. Wagner's best throw of 14.06m (46'1.50") ties his career-best while Moore's 10.86m (35'7.75") was a season-best for the sophomore and cracked the program's indoor all-time list at No. 10. Moore also placed third in the women's weight throw (11.86m, 38'11").

The IWU men's high jumpers claimed first and second-place finishes in Saturday's competition, with sophomore Matt Lindberg (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) taking the top spot with a personal-best leap of 2.01m (6'7"), a mark that ranks fifth in program history indoors and is tied for fourth-best in Division III this season.
