Maldonado Crowned NCAA Statistical Champion for Assists per Game Mark

Senior led Division III with an average of 4.53 assists per game

INDIANAPOLIS - Capping off an illustrious senior season, Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team was crowned the NCAA Statistical Champion for assists per game. Her average of 4.53 led Division III and was second across all NCAA divisions. 

The award caps off one of the most impressive seasons by a Titan, and finalizes an incredible career for Maldonado. A First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection, Maldonado broke the program's single season assists per game mark, as well as setting the program's single-season points (124), points per game (7.29), and assists (77) records. Her 77 assists tied for the most recorded in the season with Julia Kelley from Roger Williams University. 

A five-time CCIW Offensive Player of the Week, Maldonado finished her career ranked third in points with 229 and posted the program's best point per game mark, averaging 3.75 points per game. Her 124 assists ranks second all-time, while her career average of 2.03 helpers per game is the best average in a career by a Titan.
