NEW ORLEANS - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field team was recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team while senior Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) and sophomore Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) earned All-Academic Athlete awards. The organization announced its selections, Monday, July 15.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team award, programs must meet the minimum grade point average of 3.1 or higher. IWU's women's track and field program, led by head coach Amelia Marino, compiled a 3.55 cumulative grade point average to be named an All-Academic Team for the second straight year.

The Titan duo of Wong and Crabtree repeat as IWU's All-Academic awardees for the second consecutive year. To be eligible for individual honors, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 while having competed for an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship during the 2024 season, or been one of the top 50 individuals in their respective events or be a member of a top 35 relay team.

Wong, who was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America selection a week ago, landed her third USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, having earned the distinction in 2021 and 2023. The quantitative finance major held a 3.68 GPA to cap off her senior season. A two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, Wong was also named an Academic All-CCIW honoree for three consecutive years.

A 10x All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree in the triple and long jump events that includes a sweep of the horizontal jumps titles in 2023, Wong finished out her senior season sitting just shy of the nation's top 20 indoors, as she ranked 21st in the triple jump in her final season. She ranked sixth in the Midwest for the triple jump indoors (11.72m, 38'5.5") and was 11th in the region outdoors (11.28m, 37'0.25"). A 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field qualifier and USTFCCCA All-Region selection in the triple jump, Wong's name is etched in the record books, having boasted the third-best triple jump outdoors (11.98m, 39'3.75") and ranks fourth indoors (11.72m, 38'5.5").

Crabtree, a sophomore environmental studies major with a concentration in ecology maintained a 3.87 GPA in her sophomore year to go along with a phenomenal indoor season. She qualified for the 2024 Indoor National Championship in the mile where she finished 13th overall and earned Second Team All-America honors. Prior to the national meet, Crabtree earned the triple crown at the indoor conference championships as she won the mile (5:10.97), and the 3,000m (10:16.14), and was a part of the winning distance medley relay (12:29.57).
