Swim and Dive receives CSCAA Team Scholar All-America

Both teams earned the honor for the winter semester earlier this year

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Penn. - The Illinois Wesleyan University Swim and Dive team was praised by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Tuesday, June 25, by joining the Team Scholar All-America lists.

The CSCAA announced the selection of 722 teams from 417 institutions from Division I to NAIA as Scholar All-America Teams for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the spring semester. 

On the women's side, IWU was one of 158 teams to make the list in Division III. Illinois Wesleyan compiled a 3.45 GPA as a team with 17 women. College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe's that also made the list were Augustana (3.55), Carthage (3.44),Carroll (3.45)Millikin (3.53), and North Central (3.16). 

On the men's side, IWU was one of 138 teams to earn the distinction in Division III. The Green and White pulled together an astounding 3.74 GPA as a team with 12 men. Out of all the CCIW team's, IWU took the crown with the highest GPA. The CCIW teams that were also on the list were Augustana (3.34) Carthage (3.51), Carroll (3.02), North Central (3.06), and Wheaton (3.49). Out of the 138 teams, only four institutions had a GPA higher than Illinois Wesleyan.
