USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS – After a weekend of extraordinary competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams landed three Titans on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's official list of All-Americans, announced Tuesday, May 28. Sophomore Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and freshman Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) were named to the First Team, while junior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Forsyth-Maroa) picked up Second Team accolades.

Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-eight of their respective individual events and as part of a relay team at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships earned First Team All-America honors. Those who finished ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay team were named Second Team All-America.

Lowder, who went into nationals ranked 13th nationally, broke into the 400-meter finals as the seventh-fastest time out of the preliminary round (47.44). The sophomore then went on to finish fourth in the field and climb the podium for the first time in his young career after posting a 47.25-second effort in the final. Lowder earned All-American Second Team honors in the indoor 400m this year and was named a Midwest All-Region selection in the 400m, 200m, and the 4x400m relay.

Securing a personal-best performance on the big stage, Ogunribido finished sixth overall in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.36 meters (40'6.75"). She was one of two freshmen in the field and the youngest student-athlete to post a podium finish in the event at this year's championships. Ogunribido garnered All-American Second Team accolades in the indoor triple jump in March, and was also named a Midwest All-Region honoree in the event outdoors.

King made her national championships debut this past weekend, finishing 16th in the hammer throw field with a 49.88-meter (163'8") toss. An All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection, King has improved her hammer throw mark by over 10 meters in just one season and posted personal-best efforts in five consecutive meets.

The CCIW as a whole raked in 41 All-American honors by 35 student-athletes between the men's and women's programs.
