CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Fresh off First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors, senior Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in the 2024 season, announced by the league Tuesday, April 30.

Maldonado becomes the first player in CCIW history to earn four offensive weekly awards in a season. Overall, she is the third in conference history to earn a CCIW weekly award four times, as Carroll's Clara Jelacic was a four-time defensive player of the week in 2022, while Maddie Griffin garnered three defensive honors and two offensive awards in 2017.

Maldonado put up impressive numbers to help guide the Titans to a 2-0 week and a share of second place in the CCIW standings, earning the team the No. 3 seed in the tournament. For the week, Maldonado posted 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists, an average of 10.5 points, 4.5 goals, and six assists per game, along with three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and one draw control.

In the 15-7 victory at North Central Wednesday, April 24, Maldonado finished with 11 points on four goals and seven assists, one ground ball, one draw control and two caused turnovers. Surpassing 65 assists on the season, Maldonado broke the CCIW's single-season assist record, set in the inaugural season by Augustana's Hilary Kargl in 2015. On Saturday, April 27, Maldonado scored her 100th career goal, doing so on Senior Day in a 22-2 win over Augustana. The Hoffman Estates, Ill. native recorded five goals and five assists for 10 points while adding two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Maldonado and the Titans travel to Carthage College for the CCIW Tournament Semifinals Wednesday night, May 1. Action is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Art Keller Field.
