USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS – Days removed from revealing the NCAA Division III National Championships qualifiers list, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its All-Region selections Tuesday, March 5. Sophomore Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and freshmen Adam Beasley (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) earn the distinction for the first time in their young careers.

In order to earn all-region honors, an individual must be in the top-five in each event in their region or in the region's top-three relay teams.

Lowder picked up all-region honors in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes with his standout performances at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships where he ran away with both conference titles. The sophomore clocked a 22.12-second run in the 200m to rank 35th nationally and second in IWU history. Lowder's 400m dash time of 48.47 seconds not only earned him the CCIW crown but ranks 10th in Division III and broke a 17-year-old school record.

Beasley achieved all-region honors after turning in a clearance of 2.05m (6'8.75") at the conference championships, becoming only the second CCIW high jump champion in program history. The freshman ranks 12th nationally in the event while tying for the program's third-highest jump all-time.

Ogunribido's leap of 12.07m (39'7.25") at the conference championships earned her the CCIW crown and all-region accolades. The freshman's mark was good for the sixth-best in Division III and ties the IWU women's program record for the event.

Lowder, Beasley, and Ogunribido will join sophomore Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) as Illinois Wesleyan's qualifiers at the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships this Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, in Virginia Beach, Va. The meet is hosted by Norfolk State University and will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
