USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams came away with four United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Second-Team All-America honorees in sophomores Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) and Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), and freshmen Adam Beasley (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park). The USTFCCCA announced the All-America teams Monday afternoon, March 11.

In the recently adjusted USTFCCCA All-America criteria, those who finish in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. claim First-Team All-America honors. Those who placed ninth through 16th individually, or competed as a part of the ninth and tenth place relays, earn second team accolades.

Crabtree became IWU's first Second Team All-America honoree after placing 13th in the women's mile Friday afternoon. Crabtree clocked a 5:01.83 effort to earn the first All-America status of her career.

Lowder finished ninth in the men's 400-meter dash to make second team with his best time of 48.70 seconds coming in Friday's preliminary round.

Beasley, who entered the competition with the 12th-best jump in the field, also turned in a ninth-place finish in the men's high jump as he tied with three other jumpers at 1.99-meters (6'6.25") to earn Second Team All-America honors.

The final Titan to earn All-America accolades was Ogunribido in the women's triple jump. Ogunribido's leap of 11.63-meter (38'2") placed her 15th overall.
A total of 20 student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin earned All-America honors with their performances at the indoor national championships. IWU's four honorees are the second most by any CCIW school behind Carthage's six.

IWU heads to Myrtle Beach, S.C. this Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
