BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Three members of the Illinois Wesleyan University football team were included in the D3football.com All-Region 5 awardees announced Wednesday, Dec. 11. Earning the honor for the Titans were sophomore Matt Hansen (Chicago, Ill.-Marist), junior Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest), and senior Josh Hlavacek (Plainfield, Ill.-Plainfield North).

Hansen hauled in Second Team All-Region honors from D3football.com for his play on special teams, while Scott was recognized as a third team returner. Hlavacek was voted third team at defensive tackle. Scott garnered all-region status for the second straight season, while Hansen and Hlavacek reeled in the first all-region accolades of their careers. Additionally, IWU's three all-region selections are the most for the program since 2013.

A Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection for his play on the defensive line, Hansen earned the all-region nod for his success on special teams. He led the CCIW and ranked top-25 nationally with two blocked kicks as IWU established itself on the special teams front. He added career-highs of 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, a pass deflection, and one forced fumble.

A game changer in special teams, Scott was a Second Team All-CCIW honoree in 2024. Scott was the CCIW's top return man with an average kickoff return of 26.9 yards, good for 19th-best nationally. His 88-yard kickoff return at Elmhurst, Sept. 21, was the second-longest in the conference this season, while he was one of two returners with kickoffs taken for touchdowns in the league. Scott added 568 rushing yards on 98 attempts, including four rushing touchdowns. He also recorded three TD catches, while finishing with 167 yards receiving on 24 receptions.

Hlavacek, a First Team All-CCIW pick, was a menace up front for the Green and White. The senior registered nine tackles for loss, five sacks, and six quarterback hurries. In all, he finished with a career-high 41 tackles.

Illinois Wesleyan concluded the season, the program's 38th and final under the leadership of longtime head coach Norm Eash, with a 5-5 record.
