BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will take a quick break from College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action and host Monmouth College Tuesday, Oct. 8. Action is set to begin at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club.

After two matches in two days Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 5-6, the Titans (5-4) look to get back in the win column after dropping the weekend battles to Carthage College and Carroll University. The weekend saw sophomore Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) register two wins at No. 4 singles, as she downed both of her conference opponents. Bell and fellow sophomore Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) also picked up a win at No. 1 doubles, defeating a pair of Firebirds Saturday, Oct. 5, 6-0.

Illinois Wesleyan meets Monmouth (1-8) for just the fourth time, owning a 2-1 record in the series that began in 2007. IWU escaped the most recent matchup with a win, defeating the Fighting Scots 5-4 Oct. 3, 2023. Ehrlich and Bell took an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while then-freshman Carly Edwards (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) and then-junior Andie Wilson (Champaign, Ill.-Centennial) picked up the win at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-1. Ehrlich continued her torrid day with a win at No. 1 singles, taking both sets 6-2. Wilson also stayed hot, claiming a 6-0, 6-2, victory at No. 6 singles. Monmouth most recently fell to Lake Forest College, 6-1, Saturday, Oct. 5.
