Ehrlich and Van Heuklon Secure Academic All-District Recognition

Second recognition for Ehrlich, first for Van Heuklon

GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team saw two student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team announced Tuesday, May 12. 

Junior Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) took home her second straight Academic All-District selection. The junior was named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's second team for the third time in her career after finishing with a 10-10 record at No. 1 singles and a 14-6 mark at No. 1 doubles. The finance major posted a 3.90 GPA.

Sophomore Katie Van Heuklon (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) was named to her first CSC Academic All-District team. Van Heuklon went 10-8 at No. 3 singles and 11-7 at No. 2 doubles. The english major earned a 3.50 GPA. 

Both Ehrlich and Van Heuklon were a part of the team's first winning season since 2011. The squad's 12-6 record marks the most wins since 1991. Illinois Wesleyan is expected to return the majority of its roster in the fall, including the entire top six.
