NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University football senior captain
Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest), one of the top returners in the country, was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Special Teams Player of the Week Monday, Oct. 7. The league office's announcement marks the second time in Scott's career he has reeled in a CCIW weekly honor.
Scott, the conference's leading kickoff returner, came through big for the Titans on the special teams front against WashU, Oct. 5. The returning D3football.com All-American specialist returned two kicks, including one for an 88-yard touchdown. Scott is one of two players in the CCIW with a kickoff return for a TD this season, while his 88-yard return is the second-longest in the conference. He added 14 carries for 67 rushing yards and caught two passes for eight yards.
Illinois Wesleyan returns to the gridiron on the road Saturday, Oct. 12, against 24th-ranked Wheaton College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
