Cross Country Travels to Rock Island for Augustana Interregional Invite

Saukie Golf Course also site for 2024 Division III Midwest Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After two weeks off, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country team is back in action this Saturday, Oct. 17 as they compete at the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. IWU will race the women's gold 6k at 11 a.m. and the men's gold 8k at 11:45 a.m. at the Saukie Golf Course, the site of the 2024 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional race. 

A total of 57 schools will compete in Rock Island, Ill. including six College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin members. Host school Augustana, Carthage, North Central, North Park, and Wheaton are slated to toe the start line with Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. 

Last year's Augustana Interregional Invitational featured 21 nationally-ranked teams and 47 regionally-ranked teams across five of the 10 regions. 

In the most recent installment of United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings, Illinois Wesleyan's women came in at No. 6. Nine of the top-10 Midwest region women's teams will be in attendance on Saturday as well as nine of the top-10 men's teams. 

In the Titans' most recent race at DIII Pre-Nationals, junior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) led the way with the second-best time of her career finishing 18th overall in 22:02.05. Senior Nick Fisch (Woodridge, Ill.-Montini Catholic) was the top finisher on the men's side in 102nd in a time of 26:08.64. 

IWU women will kick off Saturday's competition in Rock Island, Ill. at 11 a.m. with the men's race following at 11:45 a.m. Live results will be available by clicking here or at the link on the cross country schedule pages.
