Onsrud Earns WGCA Second Team All-American Status

First Titan to earn honor since 2012

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - An outstanding season culminated in Women's Golf Coaches Association Second Team All-American status for junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University) Thursday, May 11, as the organization announced its awards at the NCAA banquet. Onsrud is the first Titan to earn WGCA All-American honors since Katie Klosterman did so in 2012.

Overall, Onsrud is the 10th WGCA All-American selection in program history. She joins Klosterman (Second Team - 2012), Rose Kelly (Honorable Mention - 2011), Lindsey Haines (Honorable Mention - 2010 & Second Team - 2009), Erica Woodall (Second Team - 2010), Taylor Paskell (Second Team - 2007 & Honorable Mention - 2006), Stephanie Morton (Honorable Mention - 2003), and Gail Nelson (First Team 2003).

Competing in 11 tournaments, Onsrud finished inside the top-10 nine times and had three rounds of par-or-better. She registered six top-five finishes and recorded three wins. The Normal, Ill. native grabbed medalist honors at the IWU Fall Classic, Sept. 17-18, the CCIW Championship, Oct. 6-8, and the Franklin Spring Invite, April 22-23. She was named the CCIW's Golfer of the Week three times throughout the season, tying for the most of any player in the conference.
