Women’s Golf Sees Seven Named WGCA All-American Scholars

Titans lead CCIW with most selections in the league

Seven Illinois Wesleyan University women's golfers were named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars Monday morning, June 30. IWU was one of three College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schools to have student-athletes honored, while the Titans' seven recipients led the league.


Earning the award for the Green and White were seniors Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony), Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High), and Jaque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs), junior Brooke Erhard (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More), sophomores Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) and Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North), and freshman Grace Fagan (Kirkwood, Mo.-Visitation Academy).

A total of 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 institutions across NCAA Division I, II, and III as well as NAIA were recognized. In order to be eligible, individuals must maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be on the team's roster through the conclusion of the season, and played in 50% of a team's rounds during the year through the conference championship. 

The CCIW Women's Golfer of the Year, Ludwig concluded her sensational career with a strong senior season. Ludwig was voted WGCA All-Region and was twice named the CCIW Women's Golfer of the Week. She broke her own single round scoring record and set the 54-hole mark throughout the season, while earning All-CCIW honors for the fourth straight season. Ludwig was recognized with the CCIW's Elite 26 Award and graduated with the second-best career scoring average (77.21) in program history. A marketing major, Ludwig carried a 3.90 grade point average.

In her final season donning the Green and White, Spinks competed in 11 tournaments and posted a career-best scoring average of 78.1 strokes per round. An All-CCIW performer, Spinks took fourth at the conference championship. She finished in the top-20 six times and tallied four rounds of par-or-better. Spinks held a 3.66 GPA while earning her degree in psychology.

O'Neill compiled an accomplished senior season that saw the Harbor Springs, Mich. native earn her third straight All-CCIW distinction. Playing in 12 tournaments, she posted a career-best stroke average of 78.2 over 28 rounds. She placed ninth at the league championship and totaled eight top-20 finishes. She placed runner-up twice and was recognized as the CCIW Women's Golfer of the Week April 30. O'Neill tied for IWU's best finish at the NCAA Championship, earning a share of 38th with a career-best 72-hole total of 304. She graduated with a degree in marketing this past spring while holding a 3.83 GPA.

Erhard reeled in the award following a season in which she competed in seven tournaments. Playing in 14 rounds, Erhard posted two top-20 finishes and held an average of 81.3 strokes per round. She is majoring in marketing and owns a 3.56 GPA.

Gastrau, who holds a 4.00 grade point average as a business major, played in 10 tournaments in 2024-25. Over 21 rounds, she compiled an average of 79.3 strokes per round and tallied four top-20 finishes. She notched a career-low 54-hole total of 228 at the Golfweek October Classic.

In her first year with the Titans, Cerroni played in 11 tournaments. She averaged 78.2 strokes per round over 26 rounds and tallied five top-20 finishes. Cerroni was an All-CCIW performer, placing sixth at the league championship, and posted a career-best 54-hole score of 229 at the Golfweek October Classic. She has a 3.81 grade point average while studying biochemistry.

Illinois Wesleyan's CCIW RESPECT Award recipient, Fagan turned in a strong rookie season. The Kirkwood, Mo. native played in seven tournaments with an 81.3 stroke per round average over 14 rounds. She earned the first win of her career as she topped the leaderboard at the Dechert Classic, Sept. 28. Her performance garnered her CCIW Women's Golfer of the Week honors Oct. 2 and was one of three top-20 finishes she accrued on the year. She boasts a 4.00 GPA as a biology major.
