Final Results

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's and men's track and field teams made the two-hour trip to compete in the two-day Meet of Champions event, hosted by Augustana College, Friday, April 21. After the first day of action, the women's squad is in fifth, while the men's team sits in 14th.

For the women, junior Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) bested the field of 30 in the triple jump event with her winning mark of 11.56 meters. Wong, who was ranked sixth in the all time IWU record books, now sits in fifth-place after her victory.

Additionally, sophomore Annalese Chudy (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) welcomed a victory in the 10000 meter run as she crossed the finish line with a time of 37:26.83. Chudy's time now puts her in eighth place in IWU top-10 all-time record books. Also in the 10000 meter run, senior Shannon Murphy (Medinah, Ill.-Lake Park) turned in a second-place finish with her mark of 39:36.95.

Sophomore Caitlin McCane (Bloomington, Ill.-Tri-Valley) deposited a heave of 31.92 meters to garner a fourth-place finish in the javelin throw.

Freshman Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) claimed fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase as she turned in a time of 11:43.21. In the 5000 meter run, junior Amanda Wilson (Minooka, Ill.-Minooka) claimed fifth as she crossed the finish line with a time of 19:04.87.

In the loaded 400 meter field, freshman Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) registered a fifth-place finish with her mark of 1:00.68.

On the men's side, with half of the decathlon events in the books, senior Davis Nguy (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) ranks third with 2895 points. Freshman Ashtin Elder (Chenoa, Ill.-Prairie Central) and junior Joshua Klein (Glen Carbon, Ill.-Edwardsville) hold down the 11th and 12th places, with 2324 and 2251 points, respectively. 

Continuing his sensational senior campaign, senior Chrisitan Gatsos (Brookfield, Ill.-Lyons Township) secured a mark of 4.48 meters to register a fifth-place vault in the pole vault event.

Sophomore Sam Okewole (Tinley Park, Ill.-Tinley Park) leaped his way to a triple jump distance of 13.44 meters to earn a fourth-place finish

The Green and White will conclude the Meet of Champions, tomorrow, Saturday, April 22. The first event is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Rock Island, Ill.
