Men's Golf Completes Round One at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The No. 7 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team completed opening round play at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Friday, March 17, carding a score of 311 on the par-72, 6700 yard Pine Lakes Course as Jekyll Island Golf Club. The Titans currently sit in a tie for 25th-place.

Senior Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) led the Titans with a three-over 75 and sits tied for 49th. Freshman Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) turned in a five-over 77 to rank tied for 85th.

No. 3 Emory leads the team standings with a 283, followed by No. 5 Carnegie Mellon at 286. No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and No. 14 Guilford are tied for third (291). Leading the medalist race is Christopher Newport's Alex Price, who fired a five-under 67.

In the individual tournament, freshman Jackson Hulsey (St. Charles, Ill.) is two strokes off the lead at two-over 74 on the par-72, 6651-yard Oleander course. Sophomore Raj Sethi (Chandler, Ariz.-Arizona College Prep) is tied for third at three-over 75.
