BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Freshman Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest) put on a showcase as the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams continued competition in the program's indoor slate by hosting the Titan Open, Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Shirk Center Indoor Track.

Scott now holds the 60 meter dash school record with his first-place time of 6.92. The freshman owns the second-fastest time in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and is tied for the 31st-fastest time in Division III this season. However, Scott was not done winning as the Lake Bluff, Ill. native proceeded to take his second victory of the day in the long jump event. Scott soared for a personal-best distance of 6.82 meters.

Of the 15 men's programs in attendance, IWU took second (97 points). Wabash College claimed the team crown by notching 98 points on the day. Out of the 16 women's teams that participated in the open, the Green and White snagged third (76 points). Division II Maryville (Mo.) University won the meet (86 points), followed by Elmhurst University (78.5 points).

For the men, freshman Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) upped his position on the IWU all-time top-10 list in the 200 meter. Lowder, who was previously ninth on the list, used a personal-best pace to climb to fifth all-time with a time of 22.61. The clip earned him a third-place finish in the race. In the same event, freshman Jake Tackett (Cisco, Ill.-Monticello) entered the top-10 list as the freshman crossed the finish line with a time of 23.04, good for fourth in the meet and tenth all-time in program history.
