Men’s Golf Ranked Fifth in Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings

ATLANTA - A herculean effort by Lance Ringler, Larry Duffie, and the Golfweek Sagarin Rankings crew has led to updated Division III Men's Golf rankings released Thursday night, Nov. 16. The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team checked in at No. 5 in the rating of 306 Division III programs.

Methodist topped the rankings, with Emory and Oglethorpe in second and third, respectively. Lynchburg was tabbed just ahead of IWU. The top-10 are rounded out by Bethel, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Carnegie Mellon, Wittenberg, and Babson.

The Titans posted three top-two finishes throughout their fall season, including wins at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Preview as well as the Butts Classic. IWU finished runner up at the Golfweek October Classic before wrapping up the fall with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Preview.

Illinois Wesleyan saw Jackson Hulsey, Raj Sethi, Bobby Beaubien, and Quinn Clifford garner CCIW Golfer of the Week honors.

The Titans are slated to return to action in the spring, officially starting the second half of their campaign at the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate, March 22-24.
