Hansen Named CCIW Co-Swimmer of the Week

First Titan since 2022 to receive award for men’s swimming

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Freshman Jack Hansen (Naperville, Ill.-Benet Academy) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's swimming and diving team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Co-swimmer of the Week, announced Tuesday, Oct. 17. It marks Hansen's career weekly accolade and the first for the men's team on the season. He is sharing the title with Augustana College's Kacper Cebula.

Hansen and his team competed in a dual with Lewis University Friday, Oct. 13 where he raced in the men's 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 100-yard butterfly. The Naperville, Ill. native placed third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:03.31 time, and fifth in both the 50 yard breaststroke (28.79) and the 100 yard butterfly (56.99).

The freshman becomes the first member of the men's swimming and diving team to receive the award since Mason McCauley earned the honor Jan. 18, 2022.

Hansen and the Titans will host their home opener Saturday, Oct. 28, for the IWU Halloween Invite.
