Track and Field Completes Busy Weekend of Last Chance Meets

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field men's and women's teams participated in two last chance meets, Thursday-Saturday, May 12-14 at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. and University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Five women and seven men, including the 4x100 relay team for the men, competed in the three day last chance events.

For the women, freshman Annalese Chudy (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) notched a fifth-place run in the 5000 meter race as she crossed the finish line with a time of 19:37.46.

Sophomore Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) and senior Emma Helferich (Monticello, Ill.-Monticello) each sprawled for a seventh-place jump in the triple jump (11.54 meters) and the long jump (5.33 meters), respectively. Wong's jump of 11.54 meters marked the sixth-longest triple jump in IWU history.

On the men's side, junior Keondre Schumacher's (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) time of 22.11 in the 200 meters earned him the fourth-fastest pace in IWU history.

Senior Cole Paraday (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) heaved his way to a fourth-place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 50.53 meters.

Freshman Luan Ademovski (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Elk Grove) earned a mark of 14.62 meters in the shot put event, good for a fifth place finish.

The Green and White will conclude their last chance meets Wednesday, May 18 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.
