CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team looks to extend its winning streak this Saturday, April 23, in a battle with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin leaders and 20th-ranked, University of Chicago. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Chicago.

The Titans come into the clash winning their past two games and most recently a 25-1 road victory over Elmhurst, April 20. The win boosted the Titans' conference record to 3-1 (5-10 overall). The Maroons are riding a nine game winning streak and most recently defeated Carthage, 17-8 on April 20. The Maroons are undefeated (4-0) in conference play and 13-1 on the season.

In the Titans and Maroons short history, the Green and White hold a 3-0 all-time advantage. In 2019, Illinois Wesleyan was victorious twice over Chicago and outscored the Maroons by a combined six goals. In their most recent matchup, April 22, 2021, the Titans outlasted the Maroons, 14-13 in a CCIW thriller eventually earning the Titans' first-ever at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Offensively, senior Landry Elliott (Milwaukee, Wis.-Nicolet) paces the Titans with a team-high 45 points. Junior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) leads the team in goals with 31, while Elliott is right behind her with 30 goals on the season. Freshman Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) has put together a strong rookie campaign with 28 goals of her own. Elliott and sophomore Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-Conant) lead the team in assists, having 15 helpers each on the season.

Senior Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) has done a bit of everything for IWU. She paces the team in draw controls (64). Jones' 27 caused turnovers are a team-best, as are her 44 ground balls. Offensively, she has contributed 21 goals and eight assists. Junior Jennie Hubbard (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles East) is second on the team in ground balls (37) and caused turnovers (18).

Sophomore Hannah Trousdale (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-Hoffman Estates) looks to extend her great play, as she scored a career high in goals, assists, and points with four, two, and six respectively in the win over Elmhurst Wednesday evening.
