Simspon Release

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Reed Hoskins
, who just completed his seventh season as Illinois Wesleyan University's offensive coordinator was named the Head Football Coach at Simpson College Monday night, Dec. 12. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow, Dec. 13, in Indianola, Iowa.

"It's nearly impossible to express in words what Illinois Wesleyan University has meant to my family," Hoskins reflected. "I want to thank Athletic Director Mike Wagner, Coach Eash, and the entire Titan athletic department for the opportunity to be a part of this community for the last seven years. Despite all the achievements earned on and off the field, what makes IWU so special is the people. Working in this environment has made me a better person and professional and for that I will always be grateful."

In his seven seasons at IWU, the Titan offense produced 20 All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin performers including quarterback Brandon Bauer who finished first in the CCIW in passing yards, total offense, total touchdowns, and rushing touchdown during the 2018 season. The Titan offense finished the 2018 season ranked in the top-10 nationally in eight statistical categories. Hoskins has been part of two CCIW Championship squads during his IWU tenure.

"I'm really happy for Reed and his family," IWU Head Coach Norm Eash said. "With his Iowa roots, this is a chance for him to return home. Simpson is a great program with a strong tradition, and I have no doubt Reed will be successful there."

Before joining the IWU staff Hoskins spent the five previous seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where the Eagles earned victories of nationally ranked foes in 2011 (No. 16 UW-Oshkosh) and 2012 (No. 4 North Central). Prior to UWL, Hoskins was the passing game coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at Wartburg College.

In Hoskins' three seasons at Wartburg, the Knights went 26-8 and won IIAC titles in 2008 and 2010. Wartburg advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals in 2008 and hosted a 1st round NCAA postseason game in 2010. Hoskins also served as Wartburg's recruiting coordinator since 2009, responsible for recruiting in Central Iowa, South Chicago Suburbs, and Southern Minnesota.

A 2006 graduate of Wartburg, Hoskins was an assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College (2006-07) and St. Cloud State University (2007-08).

Hoskins and his wife, Elizabeth, are parents to Haylee, Addison, and Carter.
