HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Senior Jimmy Morton (Sugar Grove, Ill.-Marmion Academy) is one stroke off the lead and the second-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team is tied for fourth after 36 holes of play at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview. The Titans carded a one-over par 289 on the par-72, 6750 El Campeon Golf Course at Mission Inn Resort & Club Monday, Sept. 20.

Morton finished two-under par with a 70 in round two, to put his total at six-under 138. The Sugar Grove, Ill. native, who carded five birdies on the day, is one shot behind Methodist's Andre Chi (69-68=137). 

Senior Will Nummy (Winnetka, Ill.-New Trier) went even par in round two, to climb into a tie for 35th. Junior Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) posted a six-stroke improvement over his opening round, turning in a one-over 73, while senior Carl Christiansen (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville North) recorded a 74.  

Top-ranked Methodist leads the team standings with a 36-hole total of 563. Emory sits in second (287-285=572), followed by Wittenberg (293-284=577). Tied for fourth alongside IWU is Huntingdon (284-295=579).
