BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Former Illinois Wesleyan University student-athlete and Board of Trustees member Ceasar Douglas passed away June 30, at the age of 67. A 1975 graduate of IWU, Douglas played both football and basketball for the Titans.

One of the top players in program history, Douglas was a member of the IWU football team for two seasons. He was named to the Associated Press College Division All-America team in 1974 and was also an NAIA All-American and AP Little All-American as a tackle for the Titans. A two-time All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection, he was also named to the All-NAIA District 20 squad twice. Following an outstanding collegiate career, Douglas spent time with the NFL's  San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and New York Giants. He also played in the Canadian Football League as a member of the Edmonton Eskimos.

The Chicago, Ill. native and Lindblom Technical High School alumnus also played basketball for the Titans. Douglas played alongside Naismith Hall of Famer Jack Sikma and for legendary IWU Head Coach and former Athletic Director Dennie Bridges.

Douglas was also the inaugural member of the Titan Trailblazers, which recognizes accomplishments by ethnic minorities and women who  forged paths for future IWU student-athletes. A picture of Douglas' poster, which is on display inside the Shirk Center arena, is shown to the right.
