Six Titans Qualify for NCAA Division III Championships

Bendery, North, and Blair qualify in two events each

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Six Titans will represent the Illinois Wesleyan University track and field programs at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, N.C. next week, May 27-29. Student-athletes ranking in the top-19 nationally qualified for the national meet.

Seniors Katie North (Aurora, Ill.-Metea Valley), Kelsey Wyman (Monmouth, Ill.-Monmouth-Roseville), Ayana Blair (Wheeling, Ill.-Wheeling), and Zach Anderson (Algonquin, Ill.-Westminster Christian), along with Addison Bendery (Chicago, Ill.-Loyola Academy) and Rebekah Harden (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way North) qualified in a total of nine events. North, Blair, and Bendery qualified in two events apiece, while Wyman, Anderson, and Harden will compete in one event each.

North enters with the 12th-seeded time in the 10,000m run and the 16th-seed in the 5000m run. Bendery is seeded seventh in the 100m dash and 12th in the 200m dash. Blair, IWU's discus record holder, is slotted seventh in discus and 11th in shot put. 

Wyman is ranked seventh in 400m hurdles, and Harden checks in at 12th in the 1500m list of qualifiers. Anderson will enter the national meet as the ninth-seed in shot put on the men's side.
