Senior Spotlight: Skylar LeVine

IWUsports.com will highlight the accomplishments of the spring sport seniors over the next few weeks

With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the cancellation of the majority of the spring sports season, more than 50 Illinois Wesleyan seniors saw their athletic careers come to an end. Due to this and the inability to provide our student-athletes with a traditional Senior Day sendoff, IWUsports.com will share Senior Spotlight profiles over the next several weeks to highlight these Titans and their accomplishments.

Skylar LeVine is a native of Morton Grove, Ill. and a four-year letterwinner for the men's golf team. He is the son of Mindy LeVine.

"Skylar is the ultimate definition in dedication, perseverance, and work ethic," Head Coach Jim Ott shared. "We all learned from him and how he handled adversity.  When his playing time was limited in some events earlier in his career, he kept a smile on his face, never complained, and just worked harder.  We were very fortunate that Skylar took this approach because he ultimately played a huge role in our national championship and earned a spot on the All-American team his senior year.  You cannot achieve those types of accomplishments without a positive attitude and strong mental focus."

LeVine posted 18 top-10 finishes, nine top-five finishes, and recorded one tournament win. He played 73 career rounds, including a four-round score of 302 at the 2019 NCAA Championships. He posted a single-round low of 66, carding the fifth-best score in program history at the Golfweek Fall Preview, Oct. 13, 2019. In his final season for the Titans, LeVine was named PING All-America Honorable Mention and PING All-Central Region.

LeVine will graduate with a degree in finance.
