11/11/2020 12:36:00 PM

On this day in 1989, Chris Bisaillon had a performance for the ages as a member of the Illinois Wesleyan University football team. Bisaillon set the record for most receiving yards in a game, as well as the most receiving touchdowns in a game versus Carroll. Bisaillon finished the game with an outstanding 287 receiving yards, and five touchdown catches, which both still top the Titan football records.

During his time as a Titan, Bisaillon was one of the best players in program history, shattering records and performing with the best in college football. He broke the all-time NCAA record, previously held by the legendary Jerry Rice, with 55 career receiving touchdowns.

Bisaillon was a four-time First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection, and was named the CCIW Offensive player of the year in 1991. Bisaillon was a three time All-American, including being named to the 1989 Pizza Hut Division III All-American Third Team and the Champion USA All-American First Team in 1991 and 1992. Not only was he recognized for his efforts on the gridiron, Bisaillon was also tabbed a CoSIDA Academic All-America following the 1990 and 1991 seasons.

Bisaillon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012 for his outstanding achievements on the football field as a Titan.
