On this day in 1965, the Illinois Wesleyan University football team thumped Millikin University, shutting them out 62-0. The win for the Titans polished off an undefeated 8-0 season and the second CCIW Championship in program history.
Led by Head Coach Don Larson and all-american linebacker Jim Kreitz, the Titans knocked off notable opponents including cross-town rival Illinois State University. The players of the 1965 team have set an example for many generations of Titan football players to come.
Since then, the Titans have accounted for seven CCIW Championships, totaling nine in program history.
