67 Titans Named to 2019 Fall Academic All-Conference Team

Ryan Swift, Flower Edington recipients of Jack Swartz Award

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A total of 67 Illinois Wesleyan student-athletes were chosen as recipients of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Academic All-Conference honors from the 2019 fall season.

Seniors Ryan Swift (football) and Flower Edington (women's soccer) were chosen as the Illinois Wesleyan recipients of the fall Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award.

Each CCIW member institution selects two student-athletes (one male and one female) from each of the three sport seasons to be honored as Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or above and must have lettered in their respective sport for that season.

The Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award is named after former Wheaton College athletics director and CCIW commissioner. Swartz served in the athletics director role from 1975-1982 and as CCIW commissioner from 1987 until his death on July 11, 1997.

The list comprises those individuals that achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and lettered in their respective sport from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring). All players that were named to the Fall Academic All-Conference Team across eight sports are listed below:

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
