CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin released its final Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference team of the 2025-26 academic year Tuesday, June 30, with 134 Illinois Wesleyan University student-athletes collecting the honor. Junior outfielder Jack Novak (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) of the baseball team was named IWU's men's recipient of the Jack Swartz Award as track and field's senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) took home the women's honor for the second time this year, previously snagging the recognition in the fall. 

The CCIW Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference list comprises student-athletes with an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and classify academically as a sophomore or above. The 134 IWU student-athletes recognized this spring is the most since 122 in the spring of 2024. 

The conference also anointed the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award for each CCIW institution. The award consists of one male and one female from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring). An individual must be at least a sophomore academically and have a 3.50 GPA or better to qualify. Novak joins Crabtree, Mason Funk (men's basketball), Sawyer White (women's basketball), and Sam Kedzior (men's soccer) who won the award in the winter and fall seasons. 

Novak, a business major with a 3.74 GPA, broke through in his junior year for the Titans leading the team in batting average with an impressive .473 mark. In 91 at-bats, the outfielder poked 43 hits including seven doubles, two triples, and four home runs. Novak led the conference with a .524 batting average in CCIW action and finished sixth in hits (33) and doubles (8). His two triples slid him into a tie for third in league play and his .857 slugging percentage was second. The outfielder was honored with his first-career all-region selections and First Team All-CCIW recognition. 

Crabtree's 3.86 GPA in environmental studies solidified her historic Illinois Wesleyan career with an impressive outdoor track and field season. Crabtree rewrote the record books in her final go-around donning the Green and White earning First Team All-American honors with her third place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Her time of 10:18.82 also broke the CCIW's all-time record. Besides dominating in the steeplechase, Crabtree flashed in the 5000m meter, most notably breaking the meet record at the CCIW Championships in Kenosha Wis. with a time of 17:10.74, clipping the previous record by more than 25 seconds. At the same event, she took home the CCIW's Female Track Student-Athlete of the Meet, becoming the first Titan to do so in the outdoor season since 2014.
