BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams prepare to travel Franklin, Ind. to battle with Franklin College, Friday, Jan. 31 after an astonishing sweep of Millikin and North Central last week. First swim is slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
The men and women combined for nine wins against the Grizzlies just last season.
Megan Wong (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township HS) turned a first-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.43, while also finishing second in the 200 yard individual medley (2:12.46).
Ellen Gilbert (Northbrook, Ill.-Glenbrook North HS) touched in at 1:00.19 in the 100 yard butterfly to claim first and 10:52.23 in the 1000 yard freestyle to finish in second place.
Amanda Smith (Chaska, Minn.-Chaska HS) earned a second place-finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:21.44.
On the men's side,
Jackson Rapala (Roselle, Ill.-Lake Park HS) clocked in at 10:42.80 to win the 1000 yard freestyle, while
Mason McCauley (Deerfield, Ill.-Deerfield HS) touched in at 2:00.91 in the 200 yard butterfly to lead the Titans.
