2017 CCIW Swimming & Diving Championships, Complete Results
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – For the second straight year, Illinois Wesleyan's
Meg Stanley was named "Swimmer of the Meet" at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin swimming championships at the Pleasant Prairie (Wis.) RecPlex Aquatic Center.
Stanley, who won three individual events at the championships, shared the award with Wheaton's Erin Bagley as the IWU women's team took third place in the championships and the men finished fifth.
On the women's side, Wheaton was the team champion for the 20th consecutive season, getting 791 points to edge Carthage with 745. Illinois Wesleyan (619 points) finished third in the championships for the 13th consecutive year, followed by Carroll (359), Rose-Hulman (334), Augustana (234), North Central (198) and Millikin (184).
In the men's team standings, Carthage won the men's championship with a team score of 956, followed by defending champion Rose-Hulman (763), Wheaton (667), Augustana (355) and Illinois Wesleyan (257), finishing fifth for the fifth straight season. Carroll (233), Millikin (108) and North Central (104) completed the field.
In winning the 1650 freestyle, Stanley's time of 16:48.04 set a conference record by more than 10 seconds topping the previous standard of 16:59.48 set by Stanley last year. Her mark, a full minute ahead of second place, is also a school record and a Division III Select qualifying mark.
Junior
Tori Tiberi was second (17:56.73) and sophomore
Kate Teykl was sixth (18:19.02).
Stanley also won the 200 and 500 freestyle events.
For the IWU men on Saturday, the highest individual finish came from senior
Ryan O'Toole as he placed sixth in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:53.05.
In the women's 200 backstroke, senior
Baylee Hoecker got second place with a D-III "B" qualifying time of 2:03.90 while freshman
Alivia Hay claimed third place in 2:06.13.
Sophomore
Lisa Cheng placed second in the 100 freestyle with a D-III "B" qualifying time of 52.04 seconds and sophomore
Claire Michael gathered in a fourth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.33).
Freshman
Annie Meyers placed sixth in the 200 butterfly in 2:17.95.
Illinois Wesleyan gets second in the women's 400 free relay with a time of 3:30.24, narrowly missing the school record of 3:29.62, and the men's team was fifth with a clocking of 3:13.29.
In other women's awards at the championships, Mattea Arndt of Carthage was chosen as the Rookie of the Meet, Wheaton's Jon Lederhouse was the Coach of the Year and Kayla Roberson of Wheaton was selected as the Outstanding Participant.
The men's awards went to Will McCauley of Wheaton, Swimmer of the Meet; Cooper Hawkins of Carthage, Rookie of the Meet; Seth Weidmann of Carthage, Coach of the Year; and Chris Russo, Carthage, Outstanding Participant.

The Illinois Wesleyan teams will look to pare down their qualifying times at the U. of Chicago Midwest Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18.
