Swim and Dive Hosts Monmouth for Senior Day Meet

Events expected to begin at 1 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After a trip to Indiana for a meet against Valparaiso and Wabash, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams head back home to host on senior day, Saturday, Jan. 31. Both men's and women's teams will face off against Monmouth.

The Green and White will celebrate its 2026 senior class during the first diving break of the meet. IWU will honor seniors Jay Jenkins (Aurora, Ill.-West Aurora), Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville), Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia), and Julianna Boyle (Carol Stream, Ill.-Glenbard North). 

The Titans last competed on Saturday Jan. 24, with both teams facing off against Division I Valparaiso University, and the men's team also going up against host Wabash College, as the two teams combined for four top-five finishes. Sophomore Tate Thomas (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West) finished in third place in the 500-yard freestyle, and fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle. Sophomore Jacob Nacional (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) came in just behind his teammate in the 500 free to finish fourth. Jenkins added a top-five finish in the 50 free with a fourth-place mark. Porter claimed two victories for the Titans, as she won the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 free. Freshman Abby Schnittker (Lombard, Ill.-Willowbrook) completed a one-two punch in the 200 free for the Titans and added another runner-up performance in the 100-yard freestyle. Also notching a second place finish, junior Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) came in behind Porter in the 500 free. In the 200-yard butterfly, freshman Ellen Hoover (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) came in second, just 0.3 seconds off the winning time.

The Green and White enters the weekend with 26 times within the top-10 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Leading the way with five marks, Kuschewski ranks fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke, sixth in the 400-yard individual medley, seventh in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley, and ninth in the 200-yard backstroke. Borre holds four top-10 times, as she sits fourth in the 50-yard backstroke and 200 back, ninth in the 100 back, and 10th in the 500 free. Schnittker and Porter each have three top-10 times to their names. The freshman ranks fourth in the 100-yard butterfly, fifth in the 100 free, and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle, while Porter is third in the 1650 free, fifth in the 500 free, and 10th in the 200 free. Junior Claire Paule (Godfrey, Ill.-Alton) enters the weekend sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle and 1650 free, and Hoover rounds out the women's side with the fourth-best time in the 200 fly and is ninth in the 200 IM. 

For the men, Thomas holds four top-10 times, as he sits third in the 1000 free, sixth in the 1650 free, ninth in the 500 free, and 10th in the 200 free. Jenkins ranks seventh in the CCIW in the 50 back, and is 10th in the 200 back, while Nacional holds the seventh-fastest mark in the 200 fly.
