IWU vs. Rose-Hulman, Jan. 14, 2017 Dual Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's team defeated Rose-Hulman by a 180-99 score and the men's team lost, 202-83, in a dual swim meet at IWU's Fort Natatorium on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Sophomore Lisa Cheng won the women's 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.08.

Senior Meg Stanley and freshman Will Garcia swept the 200 yard freestyle. Stanley won with a time of 1:56.72 while Garcia finished in 1:49.51. Garcia also won the men's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.51. Stanley was the first place finisher in the women's 400 yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 4:45.65.

Freshman Alivia Hay won the women's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.82.

IWU swept the 1000 yard freestyle with junior Tori Tiberi winning the women's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:01.89, a career-best, and senior Ryan O'Toole winning the men's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:13.38, also a career-best mark.

Sophomore Claire Michael won the women's 100 yard breaststroke with a career-best time of 1:10.38. Michael also won the women's 200 yard breaststroke with a career-best time of 2:31.47.

Freshman Annie Meyers won the women's 200 yard butterfly with a career-best time of 2:18.56, her first time below 2:20.

Senior Alex Guess won the men's 1 meter diving with a final score of 235.60. Guess also won the men's 3 meter dive with a final score of 239.40.

Junior Nicole Lee was victorious in the women's 3 meter dive with a final score of 195.90.

The quartet of senior Baylee Hoecker, Hay, Michael and Cheng won the women's 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.78.
