NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan senior
Craig Kym was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Kym, (Libertyville, Illinois, Libertyville HS), did not allow a goal and stopped seven shots while playing 110 minutes in relief. He made five saves in 45 minutes of a 1-0 loss to Washington (Mo.) on September 25, and added two saves and allowed no goals in 65 minutes of a 2-2 tie against Rose-Hulman on September 27.
A biology major at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Phil and Karen Kym.
Millikin senior midfielder Zach Solorio (CCIW Offensive Player of the Week) helped lead Millikin to a pair of wins last week with a goal and an assist. He finished with a goal in the 78th minute that broke a 1-1 tie during a 3-2 win over Webster on September 23. He also assisted John Fauser's goal in the fifth minute that put the Big Blue up 1-0 against the Gorloks.
