Allie Boudreau finished second and junior
Jill Harmon was seventh in the heptathlon on day two of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., on Friday, May 22.
As a team after day two, IWU has 24 points and is in first place. Massachusetts Institute of Technology is in second with 15 points, followed by Baldwin-Wallace, Cornell College and North Central with 12.
Illinois Wesleyan was the NCAA Division III national outdoor track champions in 2008 and 2010 and got seventh in 2009 and ninth in 2012.
Boudreau finished with 5,000 points and trailed only Aedin Brennan of Denison with 5,091 points. The IWU senior won two events in the heptathlon on Saturday, taking first in the javelin throw (137 feet- 1 inches) and the 800 meter run (2:15.41). She placed 10th in the long jump.
Harmon scored 4,786 points and won the heptathlon long jump on Saturday at 18 feet-5 inches. She was 17th in the 800 meter run and 20th in the javelin throw.
On day one, Boudreau was fifth in the 200, 10th in the shot put, 12th in the high jump and 14th in the 100 hurdles. Harmon placed second in the 100 hurdles, tied for fourth in the high jump and was 13th in both the shot put and 200.
Junior
Nia Joiner qualified for the finals of the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.11 seconds. The low qualifying time was 12.06 seconds by junior Meg Heafy of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Illinois Wesleyan junior
Angela Herrmann was 13th with a time of 12.39 seconds and did not advance out of the preliminaries.
