2015 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track ResultsWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team finished third in the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, held March 13-14 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Titans collected a total of 39 points and trailed only Wisconsin-LaCrosse with 55 and Wisconsin-Oshkosh with 49. It is Illinois Weseyan's best finish in the national indoor meet since winning the championship in 2008. The Titan women placed fourth in 2010, 2009 and 2006; sixth in 2004 and 2011; seventh in 2012; eighth in 2000; 10th in 2007; tied for 14th in 2014; and 17th in 2013.
Junior
Nia Joiner finished second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.60 seconds. With a time of 7.58, Carly Fehler of Wisconsin-Eau Claire edged Joiner, who was the 2014 champion in the event.
Freshman
Molly McGraw placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet-6 ½ inches. The winner was Gladys Njoku of Stevens Institute at 5 feet-7 ¾ inches.
The IWU 4x400 relay team finished fifth with a time of 3:52.62. The team consisted of sophomore
Maddison Zimmer, junior
Angela Herrmann, sophomore
Emily Diaz and senior
Allie Boudreau. The winning time was 3:49.89 turned in by Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
Of three Titans to compete in the triple jump on Saturday, junior
Jill Harmon earned four points with her fifth place finish at a distance of 38 feet-9 ¾ inches. Junior
Ellen Renk was 11th (37 feet 4 ½ inches) and senior
Kelli Herlitz was 12th (37 feet-4 inches).
