BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 7-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will play Westminster (Mo.) in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III tournament at Neis Field at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Live VideoMaking its third straight and eighth overall NCAA Division III tournament appearance, the Titans are 18-2-0 overall, finished with a 7-0-0 mark in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and were one of 20 at-large teams selected to the 64-team field.
In his 15th season as IWU head coach,
David Barrett has an overall record of 203-73-32 (.711 winning percentage) with a conference record of 74-22-9 (.748 percent).
The Titans have outscored opponents 54-8 this season and have allowed only one first-half goal.

Tess Bottorff has nine goals with five assists. Junior

Katie Denney has a 0.38 goals-against average and has made 44 saves with nine shutouts.

Mary Kate Schmidt became the first player in Titan history to win the CCIW "Player of the Year" award as she along with
Katie Denney,
Sydney Fox Tess Bottorff and
Skyler Tomko were chosen to the first team of the 2015 CCIW all-conference squads. Denney was selected as the league's "Newcomer of the Year", the Titans' second-straight winner of the award while head coach
David Barrett won his fourth CCIW "Coach of the Year" honor. Junior midfielder
Alison Seger also earned all-conference distinction, being named to the CCIW's second team.

The Titans have a 7-5-3 record in seven previous NCAA tournaments. The Titans advanced past the second round for the first time in school history last year, advancing all the way to the NCAA Divison III Semifinals before falling to eventual National Champion Lynchburg 2-1.
The Westminster (Mo.) women's soccer team is in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time in school history following a 0-0 2OT (advanced on PKs 5-4) victory over Webster University in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Atheltic Conference Championship. The Bluejays sport a 10-6-2 record and went 7-2 during SLIAC play. Westminster has lost only once in their last six contests (including the SLIAC title game) and are winners in eight of their last 11 matches.
WC's 2015 first team All-SLIAC midfielder Morgan Henry leads the Bluejay attack after finishing the regular season with 12 goals. Henry earned first team All-SLIAC honors with teammate Abby Rockers, who was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year as six players earned all-conference accolades. Senior Eileen Koppy led the team with 51 shots while Tayisah Pohtos attempted 47 total shots. Junior goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey, a 2015 Third team All-SLIAC selection, anchors the defense with 58 saves and 17 goals against in 18 games between the posts.
The Bluejays have outscored opponents 51-19 and surrendered just seven goals in seven conference match-ups. WC has outshot their opposition 299-131 and have attempted more than twice as many corner kicks, 117-49.
In the other first round match at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champion Pomona-Pitzer (11-8-1) squares off with Wisconsin Lacrosse (12-6-2), one of 20 at-large selections into the tournament. The winning teams from day one will meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15.
POMONA-PITZER – Pomona-Pitzer claimed an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament last Saturday. The Sagehens defeated California Lutheran 1-0 in the SCIAC Tournament championship match, avenging a 3-1 loss from 10 days earlier. Pomona-Pitzer posted an 11-8-1 record to secure their first SCIAC postseason tournament championship since 2005 ... The Sagehens are in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history and are 0-1 all-time in postseason play... Pomona-Pitzer has outscored opponents by a 41-29 margin this season…The Sagehens have used a balanced attack with 13 different goalscorers this season, including 10 with more than one goal. Juniors Danika Bethune and Alyssa Kim top Pomona-Pitzer with seven goals apiece. Freshman forward Perrie Cuppens has chipped in six goals, while sophomore Sophia Barsher has four ... Junior goalie Corey Goelz anchors the Sagehen defense with a 1.13 goals against average and .750 save percentage. Senior Annie Wedel is also likely to see time for Pomona-Pitzer, playing in 15 games this season while making 39 saves.
UW-LACROSSE – UW-Lacrosse earned one of 20 at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament after falling to 1-0 (2OT) to Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Semifinal. UW-Lacrosse posted a 5-1-1 record in WIAC play to earn a share of the program's second WIAC Championship ... This year's trip to the postseason is UW-Lacrosse's first-ever appeareance in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. ... The Eagles have tallied 28 goals this season while allowing 19. Defensively, UW-Lacrosse has a team goals against average of 0.90 making 105 saves on 119 shot on goals attempts ... Freshman forward Alex Cording leads the Eagles with seven goals this season while freshman Margaret Harings has six goals ... UW-Lacrosse had four members named to the All-WIAC team led by junior Kourtni Alcock who was named 2015 WIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Freshman goalie Kennedy Brault has played all but 10 minutes in goal for the Eagles, posting a 12-6-2 overall record with six shutouts.
