BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team looks to continue its unbeaten streak into Wednesday's Sept. 9 matchup against Dominican University at 4:30 p.m. at West Campus Field in River Forest, Ill. 

The Titans opened their first game at Neis Field Monday, Sept. 7 with a dominant 4-0 win over Wartburg. IWU came out strong with senior captain Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill. – Normal Community) scoring her second goal of the season in the first four minutes of the contest. Freshman Peyton McMahon (Lakewood, Ill. – Crystal Lake Central) followed with her first unassisted goal of her college career. In the second half, junior Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind. – Home School) saw an opportunity in the box to post her first goal with an assist by senior Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo. – Lakewood). Just 45 seconds after kickoff, Mapes had her turn in the driver's seat to lift the Titans 4-0. The Titans also gave all four goalkeepers a chance in the post with senior Adriana Ruffolo (Bloomingdale, Ill. – Glenbard North) adding two saves to her resume. 

The Titans saw their second-straight shutout and are on a three-game unbeaten streak to start the season, a first since 2022. IWU leads the all-time series against Dominican 3-1-1. In their last meeting, the Titans dropped the contest against DU 1-0 at Neis Field. 

The Stars finished last season with a 12-6-1 overall record and a 9-3 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference record. Dominican finished last season in the semifinals of its conference tournament. The Stars started their 2026 campaign 2-0 after a 5-0 win against Greenville University and a 1-0 win over fellow College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin member Wheaton College.  

The Titans will return home on Saturday, Sept. 12 to celebrate Senior Day against Westminster. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. with live coverage being accessed here.
