CCIW Release
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team was well-represented on the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin teams as six Titans garnered postseason recognition, as announced by the league's office, Friday, Oct. 30. The Titans ended the eight-game conference slate with a 5-2-1 record, earning them the No. 3 seed in the CCIW Tournament. Illinois Wesleyan will host No. 6 Carroll University at Neis Field on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Senior Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo.-Lakewood) as well as juniors Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind.-Home School) and Taylor Haun (Metamora Ill.-Metamora Township) earned First Team All-CCIW honors. Freshman Peyton McMahon (Lakewood, Ill.-Crystal Lake Central) and juniors Ellen Dahlquist (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and Vanessa Gray (Burlington, Ontario, Canada-Dr. Frank D. Hayden) garnered second team honors. Friday's announcement marks the most all-conference picks for the program since 2010. Four Titans hauled in postseason honors for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Moving up from second team status a season ago, Mapes snatched the second all-conference honor of her career. The Golden, Colo. native started in 15 games and six conference games, where she scored 10 goals with three assists, good for second-most in the conference. She racked up 23 points during the regular season and five in CCIW play.
Wiley secured her third consecutive All-CCIW selection after back-to-back second team picks. She started in all 17 contests and all eight conference games this season, leading the CCIW in shots (66) and shots on goal (34). Wiley scored four goals with one assist during conference play, tallying 33 shots with 17 on goal. Wiley is the first Titan since Caelyn Steffens in 2023 to garner three consecutive postseason accolades.
Haun wraps up the first team recognition, the first of her collegiate career, after starting 14 games and all eight CCIW matches. The junior tallied four goals, assisting on six this season to capture 14 points. As a force in the midfield, Haun has found herself second in the conference in assists.
McMahon, a rookie, solidified herself in the starting lineup from the first game, starting in all 17 contests. Her first career honor, McMahon has scored three goals and assisted in three in her rookie season.
A captain, Dahlquist started all 17 games. The Peoria, Ill. native leads the CCIW in assists with seven overall and three during conference play. A stalwart on defense, she played a pivotal role in six shutouts.
Gray, another force on defense, started in all 17 contests. She contributed two goals and one assist, all in CCIW play. The Burlington, Ontario product's two goals are the first of her career while aiding IWU to six clean sheets.
Senior Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) rounded out the Green and White's honorees, as she was named IWU's RESPECT Award recipient.
The No. 3 seeded Titans will host No. 6 Carroll University on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Neis Field to kick off the CCIW quarterfinal contests. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. For more information on tickets, live coverage and live stats, visit CCIW.com.
